Recently, a conference of international marine concrete durability technology was held in Guangzhou, Guangdong province. This conference was held by Engineering Technology Research Institute Of CCCC Fourth Harbor Engineering Co., Ltd. (ETRI)

Dr. Carmen Andrade, the former president, Dr. Mark. Alexander, the Vice president of RILEM, as well as Dr. Geert de Schutter, the Minister of Development, and the industry experts were invited for the forum.

 

During this conference, both domestic and overseas experts introduced the marine concrete durability, design of reinforce concrete structure and the research development of rebar model anti-corrosion. Both parties shared their findings and experiences about the durability technology of marine concrete and held depth discussions on the subject.

 

ETRI made an introduction of Hongkong-Zhuhai-Macao Bridge, whose shelf life is expected to last for 120 years. This is the key technology used in the primary design for bridge durability. After the introduction, the overseas experts showed their acceptance and praise for the scientific research findings of such technology. They also showed their appreciation towards the research staffs.
